And what is so bad about foeclosuere? If you had a bad investment would you get rid of it? Well a underwater home and an all interest loan is a bad investment.You can foclose and save money in the meantime and rent for a few years after and then get a mortgage that is small. So if one of you lose your job your not so straped. A home is where you make it. People get so attached to things that in forcloser they get sooo stressed and worn out…I think its not worth it. make a descion and just plan to forclose, save your money, find a nice place to live for a few years and then buy again with a bigger down payument. East as pie!!

Thanks for this, very simple and to the point info appreciated by someone going through this process – unfortunetely the short sale fell thru, and the bank does not seem likely to approve a deed in lieu, so it seems we are headed to foreclosure anyways
